Drivers (CDL Class A)

L&P is hiring Class A CDL Drivers for material deliveries in Las Cruces, El Paso and Southern New Mexico.  This is a full-time position, with Drivers expected to be available Monday through Friday.  Our ideal candidate will have experience delivering lumber or similar material and/or manufactured trusses to construction sites.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver material or manufactured components to customer sites, ensuring that all loads are properly secured for safe transport to customer job sites.  Unload in a safe and presentable manner at the proper location.
  2. Adhere to all Federal, State and Company safety and maintenance regulations and standards, including: all DOT regulations, electronic logs, and pre- and post-trip inspections.
  3. Provide the high level of customer service that our Company is known for.
  4. Participate in Company mandated training and safety programs.
  5. Maintain and manage all personal licensing and medical card requirements.
  6. Perform other duties or tasks assigned.

We require that all of our Drivers:

  1. Are able to pass a company mandated Drug Test and remain drug-free throughout the term of their employment here.
  2. Are properly licensed to operate our equipment (CDL class A license required).
  3. Have a valid Medical Card.
  4. Can lift and pull over 80 pounds.
  5. Have the ability to read and interpret basic company documentation, such as safety and operational manuals.
  6. Have excellent customer service skills.
  7. Have reliable transportation to get to and from the Company’s yard.
  8. Have good oral and written communication skills.
  9. Are capable of following instructions from Management and Dispatchers.

 

Forklift Operator-Truss Plant

L&P is seeking a Forklift Operator to join our growing team at our Lumber yard in Las Cruces.  This position would mostly involve loading truss packages on flatbed truss trailers, securing loads and checking deliveries to insure that they are complete. Our ideal is an experienced Forklift Operator would have experience loading trusses or other oversized material.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Safely and efficiently load truss packages onto flatbed traditional or truss trailers..
  2. Seucre truss packages and truss trailers for transport.
  3. Accurately identify and verify outbound truss deliveries.
  4. Assist management and plant supervisors with other tasks as directed.
  5. Safely operate handheld banding equipment.
  6. Ensure that your work area is, at all times, safe and free from clutter and debris.

 

We require that all of our Forklift Operators:

  1. Are able to pass a company mandated Drug Test and remain drug-free throughout the term of their employment here.
  2. Have prior Forklift Operator experience in a warehouse or lumberyard setting.
  3. Can lift and pull over 80 pounds.
  4. Have the ability to read and interpret basic company documentation, such as safety and operational manuals.
  5. Have excellent customer service skills.
  6. Have reliable transportation to get to and from the Company’s yard.
  7. Have good oral and written communication skills.
  8. Are capable of following instructions from Management and Supervisors.
  9. Possess basic math skills.
  10. Support all Inventory Control activities including regularly scheduled cycle counting.

*This position involves outside tasks where temperature and weather are part of the everyday work environment. 

 

Truss Plant Production Team Member

L&P is now hiring Production Team Members for our Truss Assembly Plant.  Our modern Truss Manufacturing Plant is growing and expanding!  We are seeking new Team Members who enjoy a fast-paced environment, using state-of-the-art equipment and software, and working with their hands.  This is an assembly line process that encourages a team approach to manufacturing floor and roof trusses. 

We are currently hiring for our EARLY SHIFT, from 6:00 am until 2:30 pm and our LATE SHIFT, from 2:30 pm until 11:00 pm

1.       Assembling floor and roof components, using paper and electronic shop drawings to layout pre-cut lumber into pre-designed configurations,              then applying steel plates to connect raw materials into a finished truss.

2.       Ensure that assembled trusses meet quality specifications.

3.       Work alongside other Team Members to achieve production quotas while following the company’s standards for quality of work.

4.       Respond attentively to training and ongoing supervision from Management and Senior Team Members.

5.       Perform other duties or tasks assigned.

We require that all of our Truss Plant Production Team Members:

1.       Are able to pass a company mandated Drug Test and remain drug-free throughout the term of their employment here.

2.       Can lift and pull over 80 pounds.

3.       Have the ability to read and interpret basic company documentation, such as safety and operational manuals.

4.       Work well in a Team environment.

5.       Have reliable transportation to get to and from the Company’s plant.

6.       Understand that punctuality is important, as this position is part of a larger Assembly Team that begins and ends each shift at the same time              and work together closely.

7.       Have good oral and written communication skills.

8.       Are capable of following instructions from Management and Supervisors.

9.       Are able to use basic construction tools; including hammers, tape measures and chop saws.

*This position involves outside tasks (pitched roof open sides) where temperature and weather are part of the everyday work environment. 

 

Wall Panel Plant Production Team Member

L&P is now hiring Production Team Members for our Wall Panel Assembly Plant.  Our modern Panel Manufacturing Plant is growing and expanding!  We are seeking new Team Members who enjoy a fast-paced environment, using state-of-the-art equipment and software, and working with their hands.  This is an assembly line process that encourages a team approach to manufacturing walls, including window and door rough openings, panel-sheathing and preparing finished panels for transport to job sites.

  1. Preparing plate material, building rough openings, and assembling finished panels using paper and electronic shop drawings created by our Panel Designer.  We use hand tools, such as tape measures, hammers, pneumatic nail guns, as well as chop saws and panel saws in our manufacturing process.
  2. Ensure that assembled panels meet quality specifications.
  3. Work alongside other Team Members to achieve production quotas while following the company’s standards for quality of work.
  4. Respond attentively to training and ongoing supervision from Management and Senior Team Members.
  5. Perform other duties or tasks assigned.

 

We require that all of our Panel Plant Production Team Members:

  1. Are able to pass a company mandated Drug Test and remain drug-free throughout the term of their employment here.
  2. Can lift and pull over 80 pounds.
  3. Have the ability to read and interpret basic company documentation, such as safety and operational manuals.
  4. Work well in a Team environment.
  5. Have reliable transportation to get to and from the Company’s plant.
  6. Understand that punctuality is important, as this position is part of a larger Assembly Team that begins and ends each shift at the same time and work together closely.
